Federal Government Initiative

Dr. Kerby T. Alvy of the Center for the Improvement of Child Caring has developed a blueprint for how our federal government elected officials, the President and Members of Congress, can become champions of effective parenting and parenting education by creating a multi-faceted Effective Parenting Initiative.

This would involve the creation of new structures within our federal government, led by either a Department of Effective Parenting or a White House Office of Effective Parenting.

Such a top level entity would be supported by a prestigious National Council of Effective Parenting composed of leaders from all segments of American society.

The proposed new structures would also include a National Clearinghouse of Effective Parenting to keep every parent informed and updated and to celebrate National Parents' Day, a National Parenting Instructor Training Center to provide training for the army of instructors who are needed to educate all of America's parents, and a National Institute of Effective Parenting to conduct research on effective parenting and evaluate and improve the outcomes of parenting education programs.

The blueprint indicates how each would operate and also how they could be funded. To obtain a copy of this proposal for a federal government-supported Effective Parenting Initiative,

To let the President and Members of Congress know that you want them to create such an initiative and to become champions of effective parenting and parenting education, sign the Effective Parenting Petition.

NEPI will pass along your support to the President and your Congress people.
In fact, NEPI has already started to share its and your support for a government-supported Effective Parenting Initiative through a historic White House Briefing that took place on December 12, 2006 in Washington, D.C.

You can learn about this briefing and obtain the presentation and charts that were used by clicking
